Anywho, this is my interpretation of a Hell Hound. And I must say, that the Hell Hound is one of my most favorite creatures to draw of my own making.
(It's very simple to draw, actually. Just start out with the head, make up your own head gear for it, give it a gigantoid dog-body, add humanlike arms behind the first ones, add head tentacles, a tail, and voila! Hell Hound!)
I got the first prototype of this creature from a dream that I had (it bit my arm off. = = ) and I put it down on paper.
You'll be seeing a little bit more of this guy around here in time. It is VERY fun to draw.
Comment before favoriting. I mean it.
Hell Hound (C) Me
This critter is made of awesome.
And probably damned souls. Awesome damned souls.
It is... So beautiful! *o*
You have such amazing talent that you can make this from your dreams... Wow. I wish i had that skill cause the stuff in my head would be so cool to make too
Anyways, love this a lot
this has got to be one of the most bad-ass things i have ever seen :U
i would NOT want to run into one of these things without some sort of giant force feild around me
i have a question though, does it only have 5 legs?
Yeah, you'd have the best chance of survival if you were equipped with a force field. Although it probably wouldn't stop a determined Hound from trying to rip you to rip you to shreds, lol.
Bleh. No, it has four mobile legs and two auxillary 'arms'. The reason that you can't see the other arm is because of the pose and angle it's at and partially because I kinda... forgot to draw the other one in on the other side. |D;;;
It does, indeed, have four mobile legs and two arms--one on each side.
You obviously put alot of thought into your creatures, but I want to know more. ya know? I definitely like your idea, and so humbly ask, would you mind explaining more? Where do they come from? Where were they first discovered? How are they tamed? Or must one take them from their litters at a young age and hope to not get devoured mercilessly by the mother? And etc. .
Originally, this animal was created by a more advanced society of humans (perhaps a couple hundred years into the future) by means of gene-blending and splicing methods to create the perfect war companion. Something that is tough-skinned and hardy enough to withstand multiple bullet wounds. Also something that is equipped with a better way of seeing in the dark (hence the infrared vision and echo-locative and touch-based tentacles) for night-warfare. Intelligence and loyalty along with the ability to discern friend from foe is also critical in warfare.
The tentacles also have the ability to change in shape by flattening out or becoming rigid at one end essentially to turn into a "knife on a whip" for defend itself and its owner.
The extra pair of arms are actually a genetic throw-back from human gene infusion to up both muscle mass and intelligence. It depends on how the gene manifests itself; individuals may have arms in front or behind their primary front legs, have more than one pair of arms on either side of the primary front legs, or they may have no arms at all. It just depends on how the gene decides to manifest itself.
Hell Hounds normally are bred in military bases and are then taken from their mothers at around six weeks of age (right when they're weaned) and then socialized with select soldiers who will train them for military operations.
The Hell Hound exhibits some form of sexual dimorphism where females normally are of lighter build (resembling something more like a greyhound), have longer legs, thinner tentacles, and have a higher top speed when running. Males are barrel-chested, have the overall build of a tank (like a bulldog), normally have more defined muscle mass, and shorter, thicker legs.
Hell Hounds come in a variety of colors (ranging from solid to broken dog pelt colors), but rarely ever come in pure white. If an individual has no other pigmentation over the body, it is a result of albinism. A certain color gene, the "Vienna" gene, will produce animals that are pure white over the entire body and have eyes that are blue (this is the only known gene that is responsible for the manifestation of eyes in Hell Hounds).
Is there any other information that you'd like on my Hell Hound?
My scanner is three points away from being a complete retard. And it takes so much time to calibrate the accursed piece of crap so it'll scan the way that I want it to. *facepalm*
Man, it'd be a dream come true if I could make one of these in the future. They'd make excellent watch dogs!
I hear you, man. I've seen A LOT of those lately.
I wonder how much fun one of these guys would be to fight...? >3 Or how much it would be for a pet...I do like puppies...however vicious and/or dangerous they may be... (Hense Eon...)
Oh, well, thank you.
Very fun. Extremely fun, actually. They start out as a little puppy about the size of your fist and can reach the height of a bus and taller if they're given time to grow. They're virtually blind, in the sense of the word, but, without the helmet, can "see" in infared. And those tentacles are used as sound receptors and a mode of touch. And they're a pain in the ass to kill in battle because they just keep coming back! D:<
If their helmet were to be removed (If they're out of battle or something. You have to custom-make the helmet for them.) there would be facial markings that would appear after performing an important deed in their life. Like if they went out of their way and good of heart to save your ass, they would then gain the markings of "Loyalty" and/or "Bravery". Or if they were to just be there to comfort you in your time of need, they would gain the markings of "Friendship".
I'm pretty sure that Eon would love to have one of her own. Something that she can communicate with on a whole nother wavelength. She'd have to carry it around, though, at least until it gets old enough to keep up with her constant running around.
(You can use them in your story if you want, you have my permission. )
